Who Trains a Dom or Mistress in the BDSM Lifestyle.

Being a Dom or Mistress in the BDSM community shouldn’t be taken lightly.

As in any career or job that you choose for your self, you become knowledgeable and skilled in that career. Being a Dom or Mistress, there is no exception.

So how does one become a Dom or Mistress? How and who trains them to be able to assume the control and responsibility over another human being?( which in the BDSM lifestyle is a submissive.)

Think about those two big questions for a bit.

When vetting a potential Dom/Mistress, do you ask them how long they have been in the lifestyle? Do you ask in that time period how long they have been a Dom/Mistress? How many subs have they had and for how long did those relationship last? Do you ask why and how the relationship ended? Do you ask for the information on those pass subs so you can contact them for a reference? If you are not asking these questions and more, as a potential sub you should be.

These questions and more will tell you what you are needing to know about a potential Dom/Mistress.

If they have trouble answering the questions you ask , like taking to long to answer in between each question ,then there looking up the answer to give you.

Don’t be in a hurry to become a sub for a potential Dom/ Mistress without taking the opportunity to take the proper steps into vetting them. There are many Dom/Mistress that are coming in the lifestyle with little or no education thinking if there Dominate in the bedroom then they must be a Dom/Mistress.

Dom/Mistress need to be educated so they have the ability wield the authority, and retain the responsibility to acquire and hone there skills, which can take years to achieve.

NOTE: watching porn actors pertraying a Dom/sub session isn’t going to teach you much.

When I trained twenty years ago, I had the best opportunity to be trained in the old school BDSM. I first had to be trained as a sub to lay the ground work for me to achieve becoming a more rounded, fulfilled and successful Mistress.

Today the Dom/Mistress has to self educate themselves thru workshops, events and hopefully with the help of a seasoned mentor. Not many get a jump start being a trained sub before moving on as Dom/Mistress. Which in my opinion is a lost opportunity.

I suggest before taking on the responsibility of calling yourselves Dom/Mistress that you research what is expected to be able to hold that title and to be truthful of your level of education. It has become to common today in the BDSM Lifestyle for Dom/Mistress to mislead potential subs into thinking they have the education and knowledge for a D/s relationship which is unfair to that trusting sub.

My advice for a potential sub

Don’t be in a hurry to find your Dom/Mistress.

Know your self worth, and value.

Be picky who you give your gift of submission to.

My advice for a Dom/ Mistress:

Education, Education.

Share your knowledge with others.

Practice and hone your skills

As a Dom/Mistress, what you are wanting to achieve, is hard work and over time you will hone those skills and be able to be a fulfilled and successful Dom/Mistress.
